Stanley J. Nowak

Stan Nowak has been an active member of the Aero Club of Buffalo since 1974. He is a past president of the Club and has been on the Board of Directors for over 25 years. He was given the title of “Director Emeritus” by the board in 2019. Stan has been an FAA pilot for 60 years and a Certified Flight Instructor for 40 years. He has over 3000 hours of flying time.

He is a graduate of Canisius College and has his Master’s Degree from SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Buffalo. Stan was an educator in the Buffalo Public Schools for 33 years. He was elected and served on the Buffalo Teachers Federation Executive Committee for 25 years. He was the first President of NYSUT-Buffalo Retiree Council No. 44., an organization for retirees from the Buffalo Public Schools. Stan was also President of the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo and the Niagara Frontier Flying Club. He served as Chief Pilot for NFFC.

During his “spare” time, Stan was a NYS Certified sport’s offical in Basketball, Track & Field and Volleyball. He did high school sports both in Erie and Niagara Counties. Stan and wife Diane have 2 sons, Stan III (CA) and Nathan (TX).
